I always advise my Nashville TN home buyers to get a home inspection. A couple of hundred bucks up front could save you a lot of heart-ache and cash later. So, what exactly does a Home inspector inspect?
- Foundation (slab, crawlspace, basement, etc)
- Electrical, heating, and plumbing systems
- Floors, walls, & ceilings
- Attic
- Roof
- Siding & Trim
- Porches, patios, and decks
- Garage
- Property Drainage
An inspector will then compile his/ her findings into a report. If you’re the potential home buyer, you and your real estate agent can negotiate with the seller to get some or all of the items repaired, or compensation to repair them yourself. Home inspections are paid for by the potential home buyer.
